American agriculture represents the most cost effective and productive industry in the world. In order to keep this productivity the conservation of soil and water must never be overlooked or taken for granted. Warren County, Illinois represents one of the most productive counties in the world. Much of this productivity comes from the owners and operators of these farms. These owners and operators have taken advantage of the technical expertise and cost share programs provided by NRCS.
With 14 years in the land improvement business and 20 years of farming I have come to realize that the need for soil and water conservation never ends. There is always another watershed that could use some work. Owners and operators must never forget the value of each structure they invest in, and the value of their next project.
